Im vorliegenden Aufsatz gehen wir der rekursiven Figur nach, dass die Nutzung einer Softwareunterstützung für Lernprozesse selbst erlernt werden muss. Gerade Lehrende sind in einer Doppelrolle: Sie müssen – häufig gleichzeitig – lernen, wie sie eine Lernsoftware selbst benutzen bzw. wie sie sie didaktisch in ihre Lehrveranstaltung einbinden und wie sie Studierende in die Nutzung einführen. Nicht zuletzt aufgrund dieser Doppelrolle ist der für die Nutzung notwendige Lernprozess einer gewissen Dynamik unterworfen

Kulturelle Merkmale für verteilte Arbeitsgruppen: Chancen und Risiken einer Computerunterstützung

Seit längerer Zeit erfreuen sich webbasierte Kommunikations-Applikationen zur Unterstützung von Gruppen wachsender Beliebtheit und weitreichenden Einsatzes. Es zeigt sich aber immer wieder, daß ein Softwarewerkzeug allein nicht reicht, um die Gruppenarbeit zum Erfolg zu führen. Obwohl die Erkenntnis, daß für Groupware-Design und -Einsatz neben den informationstechnischen vor allem auch sozial- und kommunikationswissenschaftliche Aspekte herangezogen werden müssen, schon früh in der Literatur benannt wurde [vgl. u.a. Grudin 1990], fehlt es noch häufig an der Umsetzung der diskutierten Lösungsansätze. In diesem Artikel berichten wir von einem Projekt, in dem gezielt diese Problematik thematisiert wird. Am Fachbereich Informatik der Universität Hamburg entwickeln wir das Community System CommSy, ein Groupware-Werkzeug zur Unterstützung von Arbeitsgruppen. Evolutionary Application Service Providing (eASP) : Ein Ansatz der Softwarebereitstellung

Diese Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Bereitstellung von Software und erarbeitet einen Ansatz zur Analyse und Gestaltung von Softwarebereitstellungskontexten, in denen zentral eine Software für viele bereitgestellt wird. Die Bereitstellung der webbasierten Kooperationsplattform CommSy in zwei unterschiedlichen Konstellationen unterstreicht beispielhaft die Notwendigkeit eines solchen Softwarebereitstellungsansatzes zum Verstehen und Gestalten von Softwarebereitstellungskontexten. Die vorliegende Arbeit leistet die Fundierung des Geschäftsmodells Application Service Providing sowie dessen Erweiterung zum Softwarebereitstellungsansatz eASP (evolutionary Application Service Providing). Das Geschäftsmodell wird damit für die Informatik nutzbar. Durch eASP können unter anderem in der evolutionären und partizipativen Softwareentwicklung und der IT-unterstützten Organisationsgestaltung die Auswirkungen und Leistungen der Softwarebereitstellung berücksichtigt werden. eASP wird dabei nicht als Modell der Softwarebereitstellung verstanden, sondern als ein Muster, das hilft, eine konkrete Softwarebereitstellung zu verstehen und zu gestalten.This study deals with the provision of software and develops an approach to the analysis and design of software deployment contexts in which software is provided centrally for many. Matching Needs - Application Service Providing for Asynchronous Learning Networks

Universities have severe difficulties in using elearning applications successfully due to organizational problems to provide them. Providing a web-based learning environment is an enormous effort not only from the didactical and organizational perspective, but also from an administrative and technical point of view. In this paper we critically review the steps taken for making a web-based learning platform available to a broad public by developing a model for application service providing. ASP in the university context is a different business than ASP between companies. A much more flexible relation between service provider and consumer needs to be established. We outline the necessary roles involved and tasks observed. As a result the paper proposes a process that focuses on organizational, technical and financial conditions, which must be investigated when undertaking a similar enterprise
